Questions and Answers

Why is this specific Creative Commons License, CC BY-NC-ND 4.0, chosen?

CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 is the most common license used on Flickr. My idea to use it is just to prevent unforeseen abuse of the photos. Please reach out to me if you find the license too restrictive; I am likely to lift the restrictions for you. 🙂

Why Flickr, and not say Instagram or other photo-sharing services?

When a user uploads media to Instagram, then as per their terms and conditions, Instagram receives a non-exclusive license to use the work in any way they deem fit, even if the author is not consenting. Additionally, Instagram does not support specifying any license with the work for others to use it.

I reviewed the list of image-sharing websites on Wikipedia and found Flickr to be the most suitable. It has a large number of users and supports a symmetric application of licenses.
